With the legal imperative of the Disability Discrimination Act in force;
an ever-increasing amount of accessibility checking tools and software;
as well as a growing awareness of the need for electronic services to
be accessible to all users regardless of ability, e-government services
need not be inaccessible to all users.
But for the public sector to run the last stretch to fully accessible e-services, the need for guidance clearly remains.
E-Government Bulletin and its sister publication E-Access Bulletin present a one-day seminar on accessibility of e-government services.
Besides offering an opportunity to share advice and lively debate with delegates from other authorities and private sector firms, experts in the field of accessibility and usability will present the case for and provide guidance on creating accessible and usable e-government services that need not be costly or difficult to produce.
