Effective integration of third party website applications

This workshop will focus on the integration of third party web applications on council websites. Topics to be covered include:

1. the "as good as it gets" (eg interactive mapping, online payments) - seamless integration
2. the "less-satisfactory compromise" (eg library catalogue, scores on the doors, development plan documents) - brand applied correctly but outside main website design.
3. the "altogether pretty hopeless" (eg Public Access, pay parking fines) - complete breakdown from proper integration with main website, user is thrown into a dark room and expected to find their own way out!

John Fox will detail issues encountered at Salford in trying to address these integration issues. This will include dialogue with suppliers to explain the concept of the overall customer journey; minimum accessibility standards; and corporate identity requirements with which suppliers are expected to comply.
